Juniors @ 50

We are proud to be able to celebrate 50 Years of junior golf at The Rushcliffe Golf Club.

The year will be used to achieve three key objectives: -

  • Present all members the opportunities to celebrate this milestone.  There will be on course competitions and off course events.
  • Promotion of our great game to as many young people as possible.  The Rushcliffe Golf Club wants to be the welcoming club of choice for any young person taking up the game.
  • Leave a lasting legacy that marks Juniors @ 50 into the future.  Members and visitors will have the opportunity to support fund raising for our legacy projects.  Their help will allow us to present the club with a number of tangible assets that will be branded and known as “The Juniors @ 50”

The working groups organising the anniversary is made up of officers and members from all sections of the Club, including juniors.  If any past, current or future member would like more details or believes they can help achieve our three objectives, please contact us via manager@rushcliffegolfclub.co.uk

Rushcliffe Juniors Celebrate 50 years in 2021

             It’s Full Steam Ahead!

Planning for the first event in our celebratory calendar is progressing well. We are painfully aware that in these turbulent and unpredictable times things may have to change but with everything crossed let’s look forward to our “Masters” Competition on April 11th.

We plan to stage this event with the involvement of juniors both past and present to play alongside a selection of individuals who have helped coach and organise our junior section over the last 50 years.

This will be followed, hopefully, by a dinner with the menu selected by our junior captain (no chicken nuggets) and the presentation of a Green Jacket to the most deserving junior. The twist is that all players will play off of the orange tees!

Our Junior Captain, Adam  Bexon  (pictured right), continues to add to his successes. During 2020 Adam played in The Robert Rock Tour, a series of nation-wide competitions designed to encourage and promote junior golf. He was successful in winning The Order of Merit ensuring his invitation to play in a final to be held in August 2021 at the magnificent Tulfarris  Golf and Country Club in County Wicklow, Ireland.

And in addition Adam is very proud and honoured to have been selected to Captain the Notts. Under 18’s Boys Team in 2021. What a year this will be for him. Adam we congratulate you on your achievements and wish you every success in what will undoubtedly be a very memorable year. Well done.

P.S.

If any reader has someone in their family, or a family friend under 18, who could follow in Adam’s foot-steps please contact the office for an amazing deal on Junior membership here at The Rushcliffe Golf Club.
